Cheer up, Uncle Jesse! John Stamos — like so many Full House stars around the world — is upset that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have decided not to reprise their role as Michelle Tanner on Netflix’s Fuller House. The actor reacted to the news via Twitter on Friday, May 22.
“I understand they’re in a different place and I wish them the best. I promise you will not be disappointed with our reunion and spin off!!” he tweeted of the stars, who haven’t acted in years. “Heartbroken.”
Stamos, who will also produce the 13-episode Full House reboot, previously slammed the actors-turned-wealthy fashion designers when they claimed they had not been contacted about joining the cast. (“I call bulls-t!”) But he has since slightly changed his tune.
“This is not a money gig for any of us – quite the opposite – we want to give the fans what they deserve for supporting us for so many years,” he added via Facebook on Friday. “We all just want to have fun – do it in a classy way on netflix and have a good time. Sad that a few don’t share the rest of the cast’s opinion – I can only wish them the best.”
