Lindsay Lohan Rejects Plea Deal, Stands Trial in April

The 24-year-old actress turned down a plea deal that included jail time on Wednesday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 22, where a judge will determine if there is enough evidence for a trial.

The Mean Girls star is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, Calif. jewelry store. (Lohan has denied the incident, telling her Twitter followers: "I would never steal, in case people are wondering. I was not raised to lie, cheat or steal.")

If convicted, Lohan faces a maximum of three years in prison. She also faces the possibility of additional jail time if a judge decides she violated her probation stemming from her 2007 DUI case.
