Surprise! The hospital-drama category still has a pulse, thanks to this sharp and engaging new show. After a young couple is gravely injured in a harrowing car accident (a drawn-out catastrophe that seems gratuitously bloody), Miami trauma surgeons Eva (Lana Parrilla), hotshot Chris (Mike Vogel) and their new cohort — charming Brit Matthew (a wonderfully understated Jeremy Northam) — sweat to save them. Riveting stuff all around. (CBS, 10 P.M.)
