MTV Cancels The Hard Times of R.J. Berger

Things just got harder for cast of The Hard Times of R.J. Berger. MTV announced Friday that it will not be renewing the scripted series for a third season, despite record ratings for its second season premiere.

The comedy, which starred Paul Iacono as a well-endowed high school student, drew a series high of 3.1 million viewers in March following the Jersey Shore finale. Since then, ratings have dropped to less than 1 million viewers per episode.

"RIP R.J. Berger," Iacono, 22, tweeted Friday. "You were a great guy in more ways than one. On to bigger and better."

MTV recently renewed Teen Wolf, starring Tyler Posey and Colton Haynes, for a second season. The network's racy teen drama Skins was canceled in June.
