IN THEATERS FRIDAY 2/19

After a British author (Ewan McGregor) takes a gig ghostwriting the memoirs of an ex-prime minister (Pierce Brosnan), he learns more about the mysterious death of the last guy who had his job. Despite skilled performances by McGregor and Kim Cattrall (who sports a U.K. accent as Brosnan's chief of staff), the thriller -- from controversial director Roman Polanski -- sags in the middle and limps to an obvious end.
