After a volatile season one -- who could forget Teresa Giudice flipping over a restaurant table in the epic finale? -- expectations were high for a fresh batch of down-and-dirty developments. Unfortunately, aside from a cutesy moment during which Giudice whips up 180 jars of tomato sauce with her family, not much new is cooking in the opener.

Instead, the ladies just rehash (and rehash) old gripes. Danielle Staub is still seething that Caroline Manzo called her "garbage" in the last go-round and consults a Catholic priest to "heal" her anger. Meanwhile, Giudice makes her own nasty cracks about Staub, and Caroline's sis Dina can't decide which side she's on. Enough! The drama just comes off as silly and petty (resident nice girl Jacqueline Laurita seems bored by it all). Most troubling sign of danger? A potentially delicious showdown -- there's a glitzy charity affair at Caroline's house and Staub isn't invited! -- just fizzles out. If the amped-up rivalries don't pick up soon, viewers may say fuhgedaboudit. (Bravo, 10 P.M.)
