True to her word. Ronda Rousey attended the Marine Corps Ball with U.S. Marine Jarrod Haschert in South Carolina on Friday, Dec. 11, three months after he asked her to go with him in a now-viral video.
The professional fighter, 28, agreed to accompany Haschert under one condition: that he would keep his hands to himself.
“He’s gotta be a gentleman, though, I’m not a first-date-kind-of-girl,” she told TMZ at the time.
After flying out to South Carolina on Friday, just weeks after she was knocked out by Holly Holm, she told TMZ, “I promised I’d go. It’s an honor to be asked. Honestly, I’d probably stay on my couch, crying and eating ice cream if he hadn’t asked me. So it’s probably a good thing.”
Rousey shared a snap from the fun evening on Instagram, posing with Marine Haschert.
“Thank you Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert for taking me to the Marine Corps Ball, being such a gentleman, and putting a smile on my face again,” she captioned the sweet pic.
On Tuesday, Dec. 8, Rousey opened up for the first time about her epic loss to Holm last month.
“I’m just really f–king sad,” the superstar athlete told ESPN magazine. “I need to come back. I need to beat this chick. Who knows if I’m going to pop my teeth out or break my jaw or rip my lip open. I have to f–king do it.”
