New Details on Kate Gosselin's Upcoming Reality Show

Yes, Kate Gosselin is returning to the small screen -- but she'll be without her "plus eight."
According to entertainment site The Wrap, Gosselin, 34, will be "trying different jobs and tasks and showing how she performs in the different environments" on the upcoming as-yet-untitled TLC show, which is slated to premiere in late spring or early summer.

The show will likely have an interactive component, with the professions and corresponding challenges being somewhat determined by the audience, according to The Wrap.
One likely scenario: She works in a restaurant. (In December, Gosselin was spotted working behind the counter at a popular greasy spoon in Raleigh, N.C.)

Though a TLC rep says things are "still in development," The Wrap reports that Gosselin's new show will be "more like Kate Gosselin, firefighter, not Kate Gosselin, wife and homemaker."

Execs are convinced Gosselin -- who just debuted new extensions -- can headline her own gig. "She's proven herself to be a celebrity in her own right," an executive at Discovery, which owns TLC, told TheWrap. "With the interest she generates, she can fit into any role on her own."
Last year, Gosselin, known for guest hosting The View, also taped a pilot for a talk show costarring Food Network star Paula Deen, among other TV female personalities.

Any mother with eight children has a tremdous job, especially when the father is off with a different girlfriend each week. Kate is doing what she must do to support her family. Can you image what it cost to raise a family that large? If Jon would work to earn money, then maybe Kate would not have to work. But at the moment, that is not an option for Kate as she cannot depend on Jon. I am glad she has the opportunity to learn enough money to support her children, and only wish her success as she makes her way as a single mom.

OMG, I can't imagine this, Kate Gosselin Firefighter? She's such a celebrity in her own right people want to see her pretending to really work and getting int he way of people who save lives? Kate has shown time and again that she is (using a word she used) UNcapable of handling a show as a host, co-host, star (remember Season 5-Kate as main character in that reality farce), whatever on camera. The show lasted as long as the kids were young and cute acting (now that the tups are almost six, not so much anymore). TLC is being very stupid in waiting until late spring or early summer to try and shove her down our throats again, you know, out of sight/out of mind (she's out of our sight and out of her mind). I don't think Kate stole any spotlight back from anyone. WHAT is Kate's real job? She ain't workin either!!!!!!!! If she had half a brain, she'd realize she has not talent, no marketable skills, no personality/appeal, and would give up and live off the $$$$$$$$ she has stashed away. With all the freebies they were given, it is hard to impossible to believe even those two could have spent all they earned in the 2 1/2 years on the show. And if Aunt Jodi is being investigated for some charity thing, are Jon and Kate also being investigated re taxes on the $$$$ in freebies received? It's hard to believe that someone can be that stupid that they can delude themselves into believing they have anything to offer in the way of entertainment, they couldn't even pull off reality!
I like Kate! I think she deserves any success she can attain while she is raising her family. It depends on what it is, but I would watch her. Why don't they do a "Kate plus Eight?" Jon can't pay his bills so why is he keeping the show off the air? Dumb!
