The most dramatic Women Tell All ever? The Bachelor season 20 castoff Jubilee tells Us Weekly exclusively that she wonders about her fellow contestants’ motives after they criticized her during the ABC special that aired on Monday, March 7.
One of the tensest moments from this season’s Women Tell All was when Jami and Amber criticized Jubilee, 24, for allegedly using the N-word and referring to herself as the season’s “real black girl” while in the Bachelor mansion. Both Jami and Amber identify as biracial.
Jubilee, whose season 20 run ended when Ben Higgins sent her packing in the February 1 episode, spoke to Us after the taping and said she had a feeling that she would be seen as a target for vitriol at the special.
“Obviously not the kind of attack that happened, but I definitely was expecting there to be things that I had to answer for and explaining that I had to do,” the war veteran says. “I was one of the controversial people on this season, so I came in knowing I would be on the hot seat, and I was expecting hard questions. I was expecting people to want to hash out things that happened in the house — so yeah, I kind of expected it. But the content that was in it? That threw me off.”
“I always own up to anything that I do and say, and I did say I am the full black girl in the house, but to me, that’s not offensive, and I don’t think anyone else was [bothered],” she says. “I don’t know if they really felt that strongly about it, or they felt the need to just harp on me.”
Jubilee says she felt that Jami and Amber were trying to “make me some type of way in front of people, and that’s how I felt — like, ‘We have to make her look a certain way in front of people.'”
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, March 8, Amber said that she and Jami spoke up during the taping because they wanted to “comment on a subject that many people deal with every day.” Amber added in the post that their “delivery was obviously terrible, and we apologize for that.”
The Bachelor season 20 finale airs on ABC on Monday, March 14, at 8 p.m. EST.
