We’re not crying — you’re crying! The Monday, January 25, episode of Teen Mom OG was an emotional one for fans who have been with the girls from the beginning. In the special 90-minute wedding episode, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra, the only couple who have remained together since their days on 16 and Pregnant, wed in a stunning Michigan ceremony that was filmed last August.
There were plenty of sweet moments — from Lowell, 23, making her grand entrance to Baltierra, 24, dancing with his daughter Carly, who the couple placed for adoption in 2009. But the scene that caused the biggest sobfest happened when Baltierra read his handwritten vows to his bride.
“From middle school sweethearts at the tender age of 13, to two teens in a crisis facing the odds together, to becoming parents and building a household together, to playfully goofing around together like children as if no one is watching,” the tearful groom read, “all these things and many more are the reason I want to make a promise to you.”
As the crowd — including the pair’s family and Brandon and Teresa Davis, the couple who adopted Carly — collectively shed a tear, Baltierra continued his speech.
“I believe you were brought into this world, and destined to be loved by me, cherished by me,” he said. “I anxiously await to be able to love you forever as my wife.”
As the episode aired, the Teen Mom OG cast live-tweeted the event. Costar Maci Bookout, who also attended the wedding, wrote, “@TylerBaltierra killed that! lol goodness get the tissues. AGAIN!”
Baltierra responded all night to fans, noting that the vows were written “the night before the ceremony!”
