83TO Anon 2:41 p.m. I raised my daughters to dress as they please, I was told it allows them to develop their own creativity, and SENSE of SELF, and CONFIDENCE! I was also told allowing them to dress the way they want gives them a feeling of having choices in their own precious life and yet respecting the boundaries, rules, and morals that they are taught as well. It made sense to me to allow my girls to do this so they wouldn't feel inhibited or bound to a certain look, or bound to look like every girl on the block, tv, or magazine. They are pre-teen now, and their style is impecable, girly, appropriate and trendy. They are confident girls and leaders. So I see nothing wrong with Brangelina, and I'm not that big a fan.
Is it harmful for a girl to want to dress like a boy? Probably not, but I do question who is in charge in the Jolie-Pitt household. The evidence at this point leans in the direction of the kids ruling the roost, while Angelina and Brad allow them free choice and coddling. Kids need to learn boundaries. As they grow older, more and more freedoms are allowed as they prove they are capable of making GOOD choices. Giving kids free reign at 3 isn't wise. But hey, it's THEIR family and they will have to live with any issues that arise from their parenting style. I hope it turns out well for them.

My daughter wore her puppy costume from Halloween for a year after the holiday. Now at thirteen, she has no species issues, she is sure she is human.
Why does she dress her daughter like a boy? That should be abuse! And it is VERY dangerous for her to be wearing a tie like that. Not only for her, but for the other kids as well. You never know what might happen when they're alone playing.

Putting things around a toddlers neck, such as a tie, is ignorant. A good way to provide an opportunity of strangulation. That is why manufacturer's do no put strings in hooded sweatshirts, or the like anymore.

. . . and in Shiloh's defense, I dressed up like Donny Osmond for a year when I was her age and I turned out to be a solid heterosexual. Occasionally, I still wear the purple socks. So :-P

Maybe they let Shiloh pick out her own clothes and develop her personality and style. She may pick things based on a love for her older brother or dad.
