Princess hair on lock! Emily Blunt rocked the dreamiest updo to the London premiere of The Girl on the Train on Tuesday, September 20, and we have all the details on her red carpet look, straight from her hairstylist.
“My sister Jenn, who did Emily’s makeup, and I were inspired by Emily’s [Alexander McQueen] dress and McQueen’s fall runway show,” celebrity hairstylist Ashley Streicher tells Stylish. “We wanted the hair to be kept loosely back and embellished.”

Streicher created soft waves for Blunt, 33, or a press event earlier that day by blowing out her blonde bob with a round brush and curling her tresses. She used Davines All in One Milk to keep the style natural and a touch of Davines Medium Hold Hairspray to set it.

To revive those waves for the premiere, Streicher, who also works with Lily James and Mandy Moore, sprayed SACHAJUAN Dark Volume Powder onto the roots and massaged it in. Then, she tells Stylish, “came the fun part. I used several Jennifer Behr embellishments and added them strategically.”

Streicher placed a Jennifer Behr Simona headband over the Into the Woods star’s head and wrapped her hair around it, starting with the strands behind one ear and working her way around. Once the ‘do was in place, she added a few more Behr pieces, including two gold floral Rowena Barrettes and the Letta Bobby Pin Set with pearls, for maximum whimsy.
Streicher finished the sparkling look with a dusting of David Mallett’s Dry Volume Powder for texture and hold, and sent Blunt off to the premiere at London’s Odeon Leicester Square.
