Forget the mirror ball trophy, Kirstie Alley is hoping for a bigger prize at the end of her Dancing With the Stars journey.
"I've lost 60 pounds, and I have 30 or 40 more to go," the former Fat Actress star told UsMagazine.com at Monday's cast reveal. "And I think with this strenuous, rigorous dance schedule, I think it's going to work. It's exciting."
Still, the actress, 60, admits producers had a hard time convincing her to come on the show.
"You know, it's like that guy who asks you out over and over and over again and you're like 'No, no, no, no, no,'" she said. "And then finally you're like, 'Oh fine, all right, we can have breakfast.' And then you're like, 'Oh all right, I'll sleep with you.'"
What finally changed her mind? "Their tenacity was good because it made me feel like, 'Wow! These people have confidence I can do this,'" she told Us. "Because I really didn't have confidence that I could do this."
And while Alley says she's still nervous that she'll forget the dance and fall down, she's slowly gaining faith in herself.
"After dancing the first day I almost started crying and ran home," she told Us. "But the second day was a little better and today was even better."
