Russell Brand's making bank!
The 35-year-old British comic continued to reign at the box office this weekend, with his Easter-themed animated hit Hop raking in $21.7 million to top the charts for the second-straight week.
The live-action comedy Arthur — in which Brand romances costar Jennifer Garner — netted $12.6 million for a modest second-place finish.
Placing third was Hanna, starring Atonement's Saoirse Ronan as a 16-year-old trained by her dad (Eric Bana) in remote Finland to become a Jason Bourne-style assassin. According to early Variety estimates Sunday, the flick — driven heavily by late Friday and Saturday night showings — brought in $12.3 million in box office receipts.
Rounding out the top five were the Bethany Hamilton biopic Soul Surfer, which featured Carrie Underwood in her big screen debut ($11.1 million), and the spooky Rose Byrne–Patrick Wilson chiller Insidious ($9.7 million).
