Dancing With the Stars is down to the best of the best in this week's semi-final round, but somebody's got to get the boot before Monday's finale episode.
Rob Kardashian and Ricki Lake impressed with their samba and Argentine tango routines — along with a cha cha relay dance — but their competitors, frontrunner J.R. Martinez and Hope Solo didn't fare as well.
Aggravating an ankle injury during his Monday night performances, Martinez was praised for staying in character and fighting through the pain, but saw his scores suffer as a result of his lax posture. Solo, on the other hand, improved slightly from her paso doble to her samba with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, but in the end finished at the bottom of the leaderboard with a mere 56 points out of 70.
Regardless of her scores, Solo was proud of the routine she and her partner delivered. "Maks put so much into this Argentine tango and it's something to be proud of. He basically broke his body picking me up and teaching me how to do this dance, and I pulled muscles doing it. It wasn't easy," she told Us Weekly backstage at Monday's show. "To come out with 8's, I was like, there's no other couple here who can do what we just did!"
