Katy Perry got a serious makeunder for her upcoming guest role on FOX's Raising Hope.
The recently single singer, 27, plays Rikki, a prison attendant who claims to be an old friend of Sabrina's (Shannon Woodward). Sporting a bushy red wig and an unflattering uniform, Perry looks nothing like her super-sexy self. The episode, titled "Single White Female Role Model," airs March 6.
"Shannon Woodward is my best friend," Perry told Us Weekly in a statement Wednesday. "A couple weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when she called me up and asked if I wanted to do something 'fun' for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show. I thought, 'Sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin' with my best friend.'"
Producer Greg Garcia "was nice," Perry added, "but I hope he's not secretly sabotaging my potential future career by type-casting me in the role of just a looker, so that I would never be able to play anything more challenging."
Perry's episode of Raising Hope airs March 6 at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
