Contrary to reports, Nate Berkus isn't in nesting mode. Though The New York Post's Page Six recently reported the interior decorator was planning to start a family with his boyfriend, Jeremiah Brent, the couple has not hired a surrogate to carry their child.
"There is no truth to the rumor," Berkus' rep tells Us Weekly exclusively. "There is no surrogate and no plans for a baby at this time."
Berkus and Rachel Zoe's former assistant were first linked in December 2012. After his eponymous, New York City-based talk show ended after two seasons, the TV star reportedly moved to L.A. to be nearer to Brent. During a February 2013 appearance on OWN's Super Soul Sunday, Berkus told mentor Oprah Winfrey that he was "enormously relieved" to be done with the program.
"I felt exhausted. I gained 20 pounds. I felt unhealthy," he explained. "I felt there was no way I could do a good job." Since then, Berkus has designed a line of home goods for Target and released a book, The Things That Matter.
