Not the happiest of anniversaries, that's for sure. Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott hit the eight-year mark as husband and wife on Wednesday, May 7—but neither seemed to be in much of a mood to celebrate amidst their marriage troubles following McDermott's December fling with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand.
The couple spent the evening together having dinner at sushi eatery Katsu-Ya in Encino, Calif. "They did not look happy at all," an eyewitness tells Us Weekly of the couple, who've been documenting their attempts to save their relationship on the Lifetime series True Tori. "They were quiet," the onlooker adds. "There weren't any smiles at all. It was sad to see them so down."
Both stars were dressed casually for the outing—Spelling in baggy black pants and an oversized sweater, and McDermott in jeans and a T-shirt. More notable, though, is the fact that both were wearing their wedding rings.
Spelling, 40, appeared to also be holding a gift for her husband, with whom she has four kids. McDermott, 47, had just a pair of headphones in his hands, but he was spotted earlier in the week shopping at Victoria's Secret and Tiffany & Co., presumably to procure a few presents.
He also hit up the Sherman Oaks Galleria on the day of his and Spelling's anniversary. After having coffee with a friend that afternoon, he met up with his teenage son Jack (from his marriage to ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace), and picked out some additional tokens of his affection.
The Chopped Canada host and the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum are currently trying to figure out if their marriage can be saved in the wake of his infidelity. "He was my soulmate, but he completely broke my heart," Spelling told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview last month. "It makes you not trust anything that's happened in your relationship."
