Longtime ties! Years before Beck and Beyonce competed at the 2015 Grammys, the two musicians were connected to one another through Beck's composer father David Campbell.
At last month's 57th Annual Grammy Awards, Beck won Album of the Year for his Morning Phase record, beating out Beyonce's self-titled celebrated 2013 album, and inspiring a talked-about negative reaction from Kanye West.
While West has since walked the comments back and apologized, the rapper voiced his disbelief at the win at the time, saying Beyonce, 33, should have nabbed the honor. "Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyonce," West explained in the E! post-Grammys show.
Although Beck, 44, didn't hand his Grammy over to Queen Bey, the indie rocker has been just one degree of separation away from the "Crazy in Love" crooner for years.
Born Bek David Campbell, Beck is the son of composer Campbell. As unearthed by a Reddit user this week, the music maker is credited on Beyonce's 2006 album B'Day.
The superstar's sophomore studio album included tracks like "Deja Vu," "Upgrade U," and the chart-topping "Irreplaceable." In addition to his work with Beyonce, Campbell is also credited on albums by Taylor Swift, Aerosmith, Justin Timberlake, Billy Joel, and, of course, his son Beck.
