The most fabulous something blue!
Sarah Jessica Parker is covering the Summer 2015 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, and she has a very special reveal for the occasion: The Sex and the City actress’ SJP Collection is expanding to include bridal shoes!
Posing pretty in a sea of posies for the photos, Parker, 50, shows off her new collection of heels. Each comes in a blush box, and yes, you guessed it, many of the pumps are shades of blue—including baby blue, a seafoam blue, and a royal blue. Even better, most of the pairs are adorned with a little dash of bling! (Check out four of the fierce styles in the grid below.)
Parker dished out some wedding tips, too, starting with bridal attire. “If I were getting married today, I’d likely wear cream, just to have that bridal experience,” the actress—who wore black to marry Matthew Broderick in 1997—told Stewart’s wedding ‘zine.
The mom of three added, “I would want my dress to have an Oscar de la Renta feel, pockets below the waist, a very fitted bodice, a huge skirt, in taffeta or duchesse satin. That silhouette appeals to me because it’s old-fashioned yet can look very modern.”
Parker advised to not get too caught up in tradition, especially if it doesn’t line up with your personal style. “When I was a kid living in Cincinnati, we grew lilies of the valley in the yard. Now, in summer, our house is filled with bouquets of wildflowers my daughters pick,” she said. “At a wedding, people might strive for a more formal feeling, but a lot of the rules can be broken today. ‘Formal’ could be a handful of carnations, beautiful and simple.”
And to all the bridesmaids out there: Remember, it’s all about the girl in white. “It’s incumbent upon anyone who is included in a bridal party to wear what the bride wants—to make it work and not complain,” the star insisted. “It’s the couple’s day, and it’s an honor to be part of it.”
