Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich’s engagement continues to give Us #relationshipgoals. The hockey pro, 32, and Dancing With the Stars judge, 27, celebrated their milestone moment with friends and family on Saturday, Sept. 5.
“Thank you to all you awesome folks who made last night a very special memory for @juleshough and I! You are all a little south of sanity and we love you for it!” the athlete captioned a collage of black and white photo booth snaps from the fete on Sunday on Instagram. In one pic, the Washington Capitals player gives a happy-looking Hough a kiss on the cheek while she flashes her massive Lorraine Schwartz-designed six-carat ring.
“It was magical and sweet,” Hough shared of Laich’s proposal on her website last month. “We were at home, romantic, and relaxed, which is perfectly very ‘us.’ We stood on the deck, watching the sun set over the lake and listening to our favorite songs. Not even for a second did I expect that beautiful, serene scene was about to become one of the most meaningful moments of our lives,” she revealed, adding that she was “so taken aback when Brooks got down on one knee” that she “completely blacked out.”
The Safe Haven actress, who previously dated Ryan Seacrest for three years, added that she knew Laich, whom she met in 2013, was “the one” from the moment she met him.
“Being engaged actually does feel different,” Hough added in her blog post. “There is a sense of strength in us, a feeling of being further grounded but most of all, it just makes me really giddy!”
