Yum? Starbucks just debuted a new holiday drink inspired by a notoriously unpopular dessert. The company revealed on Thursday, December 15, that a Fruitcake Frappuccino has been added to the menu for a limited time.
The cold drink is a Hazelnut Crème Frappuccino — with the addition of several toppings. It includes dried fruit, whipped cream, caramel and a sprinkle of cinnamon and matcha. It’s only available through the weekend.
“The beverage arrives just in time to celebrate another festive tradition — ugly holiday sweaters,” Starbucks’ website reads. On Friday, which is National Ugly Sweater Day, Starbucks Rewards members can receive an ugly sweater beverage cozy when they buy a Fruitcake Frappuccino.
But that’s not all. A package of six gingerbread Ugly Sweater Cookies is also available for purchase.
Starbucks often gets into the spirit of the season. Last month, coffee lovers were treated to 13 new red holiday cups, which were designed by customers around the world.
“We crafted coffee. You made it art. Cups warm a hand, beauty warms the heart. #RedCups,” Starbucks’ official Twitter account posted on November 10. Starbucks was previously scrutinized for their plain red cups last year; some people thought they weren’t festive enough.
