Look at that rock! Real World: Las Vegas’ Trishelle Cannatella got engaged to boyfriend John Hensz in New Orleans on Sunday, July 31, and showed off a glitzy diamond engagement ring on Instagram.
The reality star, 36, who also competed on MTV’s The Challenge, was just expecting to go to brunch, she told TooFab. But her now-fiancé, a Louisiana fighter pilot, surprised her with a full second-line parade in New Orleans and a cushion-cut diamond engagement ring surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds and set on a diamond-encrusted band.
“Soooooo in other news….some poor guy asked me to be his wife,” Cannatella wrote via Twitter later that day. “And I said hell yes.”
She later shared an Instagram picture of the two kissing, which featured her bling flashing on her left ring finger. “Yeah… this hot guy right here hired a band to play for me in the French Quarter for a second line,” she wrote of the sweet proposal, which included cameos from important family members and friends. “And then had my friends and my daddy and step mom and sister here and asked me to be his ride or die person forever. How cool is that? ❤️.”
Cannatella is best known for her controversial role in her 2002 season of The Real World, in which she was part of a three-way kiss that included costars Brynn Smith and Stephen Hill. But she recently revealed that the actual events were much less steamy than the reality show lead on.
“Clearly, there was editing. I can’t deny my actions, because they were on camera,” the former Playboy model told TooFab. “Did I make out with two people in a hot tub? Yeah. Could they have made it seem a little less shocking than it was? Yeah … It was just a three-way kiss. It was not a big deal!”
