Us Weekly’s Film Critic Mara Reinstein Creams the Competition in ’80s Trivia on ‘The Howard Stern Show’

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Us Weekly’s very own film critic, Mara Reinstein, crushed the competition during a round of trivia on Howard Stern‘s SiriusXM radio show on Tuesday, June 14.

Reinstein played “Stump the Booey” against producer Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate to see who knows ’80s music trivia best. Stern played a song and the two had to write down the title and artist.

The competition was so tough that Stern, 62, had to add several bonus rounds until a winner was declared. (According to Stern’s website, it’s believed to be the longest on-air “Stump the Booey” in the show’s history.)

Spoiler alert: Reinstein won!

She was prepared, after all. Reinstein created a Spotify playlist ahead of time to remember as many throwback tunes as possible. Some of the songs played during the match included Bow Wow Wow’s “I Want Candy,” Air Supply’s “All Out of Love” and Champaign’s “How ‘Bout Us.”

Reinstein didn’t just get a pat on the back for her triumph, either. The Us staffer was awarded a $5,000 check, which she selflessly donated to the North Shore Animal League.

“I’m a big animal lover and I definitely know that it’s a charity close to your heart and Beth’s heart,” she said, referring to Stern’s wife. “It’s the least I can do, to donate the money.” (Beth Stern is a spokeswoma for the organization.)

Tom Patterson, the CEO of Tommy John underwear, was also in the studio and decided to give back. “I’d love to second Mara and maybe donate 5 percent of sales today to the North Shore Animal League,” he said. (Tommy John put up the prize money.)
