Facing life’s challenges! I Am Jazz‘s second season, premiering June 8, focuses on transgender teen Jazz Jennings experiencing new struggles and opportunities, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive promo.
The unscripted TLC series’ trailer shows South Florida-based Jennings, 15, admitting that some people continue to criticize her for transitioning. The reality TV star, who came out as trans at age 6, releases her memoir, Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen, through Random House on June 15.
“I am a girl,” she tells the camera. “I’m also transgender, and I don’t know what I’m going to face in the future.”
After viewers hear some of the disparaging messages she has received, she adds to the camera, “I want people to understand, the hate is real.”
The GLAAD Media Award-winning series’ footage also shows Jennings’ interactions with her family members.
