Lightening up! Rachel McAdams debuted platinum-blonde hair on Wednesday, February 24, at Vanity Fair and Barneys’ private dinner honoring her Spotlight director, Tom McCarthy.
The naturally brunette McAdams, 37, who scored her first Oscar nomination for her role in the drama, rocked her icy chin-length bob with a side part. The new color contrasted with the jewel tone of her sapphire David Koma dress, which had long sleeves, cutout shoulders and a ruffled accent down one arm.

McAdams brought her look-alike sister, Kayleen McAdams, for the event. But it wasn’t all play for Kayleen! The celeb makeup artist, who has worked with Jessica Biel and Mandy Moore, has been creating Rachel’s beauty looks for events all season long.
And what a season it’s been, capped off by an Oscar nomination for the Canadian beauty! “I’m still speechless [about the nomination]. I couldn’t stop laughing!” she told Us at the 2016 SBIFF Riviera Award in Santa Barbara, where she and the Spotlight cast were honored. “I was so not expecting this.”

She continued, “At quarter to six [on the day of the nominations], I got a text from my publicist and then I saw all these texts and I thought, Something bad has happened. Then [I read] ‘your personal nomination,’ and I was like, ‘What?!’ And then I started laughing. I was laying in a hotel room in L.A. laughing my head off.”
