Hunter Parrish
Hunter Parrish is an actor and singer best known for playing Silas Botwin on Weeds and appearing in Broadway productions including Godspell. Parrish hails from Plano, Texas, and developed an interest in acting at a young age. After graduating from Plano Senior High School he moved to Los Angeles to break into the entertainment industry.
Parrish began booking television guest roles in the early 2000s before landing his breakout role as Silas Botwin on Weeds in 2005. He starred on the Showtime series throughout its eight-season run, earning recognition for his performance as the eldest son of Mary-Louise Parker‘s character. Alongside his television work, Parrish built a successful stage career, making his Broadway debut in Spring Awakening before taking on the title role in the 2011 revival of Godspell.
Parrish’s notable film credits include Freedom Writers (2007), 17 Again (2009) and It’s Complicated (2009). On television, he’s been featured in shows like Following, Quantico and Ratched. He has also appeared in productions of To Kill a Mockingbird and The Glass Menagerie, showcasing his work in theater.
Parrish married longtime girlfriend Kathryn Wahl in 2015 after several years of dating. They share daughter Meadow (born in 2020) and son Maker (born in 2025).
