Isaac Hanson
Isaac Hanson is a singer, songwriter and musician best known as the oldest member of the pop-rock trio Hanson, which he formed with his younger brothers Taylor Hanson and Zac Hanson. Isaac spent part of his childhood living with his family in Trinidad, Ecuador and Venezuela before returning to his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The brothers were homeschooled and began performing together as children, drawing on classic rock, pop and R&B influences.
Alongside his brothers, Isaac began performing professionally in Tulsa in 1992 and released the independent albums Boomerang (1995) and MMMBop (1996) before signing with Mercury Records. The group broke through in 1997 with Middle of Nowhere and its hit single “MMMBop,” which topped charts internationally. Hanson won two MTV Europe Music Awards in 1997 and earned three Grammy nominations the following year for Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals.
The band went on to release albums including Snowed In (1997), This Time Around (2000), Underneath (2004), The Walk (2007) and Anthem (2013). Isaac also cofounded the independent label 3CG Records with his brothers.
Isaac married Nicole Dufresne in 2006. The couple share children Everett (born in 2007), Monroe (born in 2008) and Odette (born in 2014).
