
Yvette Nicole Brown

Yvette Nicole Brown was born on August 12, 1971, in East Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from the University of Akron in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication.
After college, Brown moved to Los Angeles where she began taking acting classes. She appeared in numerous commercials and TV shows including The War at Home, Malcolm in the Middle, That’s So Raven, and The Office.
Brown also had a recurring role on the Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh from 2004 to 2007 as movie theater manager Helen Dubois. She later starred as Shirley Bennett on the NBC comedy series Community for five seasons from 2009 to 2014 before she exited the show to take care of her sick father. Brown’s other film credits include Avengers: Endgame, Always a Bridesmaid, Lady and the Tramp and Broken Diamonds.
Brown is an avid fan of The Walking Dead and is a frequent guest on Chris Hardwick‘s talk show Talking Dead, which discusses the AMC series.
