Emma Roberts is so happy she switched up her hair color in March.
“I love being a redhead,” she told Us Weekly exclusively at the launch of Reed for Kohl’s on Wednesday, April 20. “I’ve never been red before and I feel surprisingly myself.”
Even though the hue is a drastic change from her previous blonde style, Roberts feels at home. “I thought I would feel like a different person but I feel very me,” Roberts, 25, elaborated. “It was nice to change things up after having long blonde hair on Scream Queens for seven months. I feel like a new person.”
The best part about the color: the upkeep, or lack thereof. “It’s also lower maintenance than the blonde,” she explained.
But the American Horror Story actress isn’t the only one getting a makeover. Her Scream Queens character, Chanel Oberlin, also has a new look in store. “It’s [based in a] mental hospital,” Roberts says of season 2. “So, I doubt Chanel is looking as ‘Chanel’ as we remember her [on the finale].”
Even though Roberts knows there will be upcoming changes, she’s not exactly sure what her makeover will be. “I don’t know what the transformation’s going to be but I’m sure [the show runners will have] something up their sleeve!” she said.
