Sealed with the perfect lip! In a sit-down with BeautyforaPurpose.com, Lucy Hale revealed her first beauty memory and one of her favorite red carpet lip shades.
“My very first beauty memory is of lipstick,” the Pretty Little Liars star, 26, told the site as part of its “Kiss & Tell” series. “When I was growing up my grandma had the most amazing trunk of jewelry, costumes, accessories, and makeup. Whenever she would take her nap, I would get into the trunk and put on a tutu and red lipstick, and run around the house.”
If that sounds like a primer for hitting the biggest red carpets in town, trust — it was. “It was good practice for one of my favorite red carpet moments, at the American Music Awards last year. I wore a Goth lip, which was something completely new and bold for me,” Hale, who serves as a brand ambassador for Mark, said. “It was one of the first times I completely truly stepped out of my comfort zone at a big event.”
The color in question, for those curious? Two shades mixed: Mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in “Whiney” and “Hot & Spicy.”

And rest assured, Hale isn’t stopping the beauty adventures anytime soon. “I feel like, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more comfortable ignoring the beauty ‘rules,'” the “You Sound Good to Me” singer said. “I’m not afraid to try something new.”
