She doesn’t want to hear it! Anne Hathaway revealed she’s putting on a few pounds and she has a very clear message for body shamers who don’t approve.
“I’m gaining weight for a movie role and it is going well,” the Oscar-winning actress, 35, captioned an Instagram video of herself weight training at the gym on Thursday, April 5. “To all the people who are going to fat shame me in the upcoming months, it’s not me, it’s you. Peace xx.”
Added The Princess Diaries star: “PS — I wanted to set this
to Queen’s ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ but copyright said. Continued peace xx.”
The Devil Wears Prada actress hasn’t shied away from calling out her haters in the past. Last month, Hathaway addressed those who criticized her 2013 Oscars dress, which she wore when she won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Miserables.
“I had to change my dress last minute and it looked like my nipples were hard,” she wrote via Instagram alongside a throwback photo of her outfit. “I had full blown laryngitis and had to sing, and a bunch of corny haters were getting lots of attention from the media for being haters beauty know what? It was still the best.”
The Ocean’s 8 star also recently talked about a time when people disliked her for no particular reason nearly five years ago. “It’s not that I’ve gotten a rhino skin to it, but I sort of see all of that for what it is,” she told Jezebel in April 2017. “How the world feels about me has nothing to do with me. How other people treat me has nothing to do with me. But if anything that anybody said resonated with me as something I’d like to work on for myself, I took it in like that.”
