When she first met fiance Russell Brand, Katy Perry made quite an impact — literally.
"I was 25, 30 feet away from him. And I threw the bottle straight at him. Hit him smack dab on the head," she tells the August issue of Esquire. "Can you imagine the horrible feeling he had, when he was used to getting everything he wanted? I was like, 'You've met your match.'"
Perry, 25, says she and Brand, 35, are basically the same person.
"I'm like, 'Oh my God, I am you. You are me,'" she says. "[We are] two divas in one house."
She takes credit for helping Brand, a former drug and sex addict, tame his wild ways.
Says the singer: "He used to basically be a professional prostitute – now he's not. He's an extremist, which can be both good and bad. I always needed someone stronger than me and I am, like, a f****** strong elephant of a woman. I say that hopefully in the humblest way I can."
Us Weekly recently reported the two (who got engaged in India last New Year's Eve) will return to the county to wed in October.
"It will be a traditional Indian ceremony," says the insider, adding that Rihanna will even be a bridesmaid. "[Designer Zuhair Murad] is making all their dresses too."
