Alyssa Farah Griffin returned to The View two months after welcoming her son, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr.

“I am back. I’m a human lighter, but he is here, he is with us,” Alyssa, 36, shared on the Monday, April 13, episode of ABC’s daytime talk show. “Little Justin is the most magical thing. All of you who are moms told me. They said your brain chemistry changes overnight, and it is so true. My world just feels more magical and full, and I’m just so grateful to him.”

Alyssa and her husband, Justin Griffin, welcomed their first child on February 10.

Since then, The View had several guest cohosts, including Savannah Chrisley, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sheryl Underwood and Abby Huntsman, fill in while Alyssa was on maternity leave.

“You were all amazing while I was gone,” Alyssa shared during her return. “I was watching and I was like, ‘This is the best show I have ever seen. It’s way better on TV than at the table.’”

The CNN political commentator also gave thanks to several people who have been helpful behind the scenes during the first couple of months of her motherhood journey.

“I do, really quickly, want to thank my amazing husband. I mean, unbelievable. You see the best in your partner in traumatic labor,” she said with a laugh. “But also, they say it takes a village and I have the best nanny at home, Maria, and night nurse, Teresa, which is such a blessing. I hope [she] is watching. I could not be here today at work doing my job without them, and also shout-out to nurses, who are literally angels in scrubs. They are just the best.”

After expressing gratitude, Alyssa was back discussing “Hot Topics” with her cohosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin.

The panel discussed President Donald Trump attacking Pope Leo XIV and Eric Swalwell dropping out of the California governor race amid sexual misconduct allegations.

Politics aside, Alyssa has used her platform at The View to share her motherhood journey.

In October 2025, Alyssa announced she was pregnant after going through five rounds of IVF.

Alyssa also revealed in a separate interview with People that she was diagnosed with endometriosis while she and Justin started trying to expand their family. They tried to conceive naturally for two years before moving forward with IVF, which Alyssa said was an “emotional rollercoaster.”

“You do feel somewhat out of control with your own body,” she shared. “Both Justin and I just feel so grateful that we were in the position that we were even able to do that many rounds of IVF. I consider it a miracle of science, and just such a wonderful thing that we’ve gotten to where we are now.”
