Teenager time! Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh rang in her 13th birthday with an escape room party at The Basement LA on Monday, May 27.
“All of Jolie’s children as well as a group of friends attended the birthday party and spent hours going through the immersive escape rooms, eating custom birthday cakes and watching performances from a magician,” a source told Us Weekly on Wednesday, May 29. “Everyone was in good spirits. The groups escaped all four of the escape rooms: The Basement, The Elevator Shaft, The Study and The Courtyard.”
Another insider added: “They paid to shut down the place for 4 hours and have full run of the facility. … The Basement LA has an in-house magician named Micah Cover from the Magic Castle that guests can hire for private parties, as well as catering options. The Jolie group purchased all of these add-ons as well as souvenir shirts. The Basement LA also offers a ping-pong table, Nintendo Switch and board games, which the kids (and some of the adults) made heavy use of in between their games.”
Two years ago, the Oscar winner, who also shares Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 10, with her ex-husband Brad Pitt celebrated Shiloh’s 11th year with a family trip to Disneyland.
The then-preteen ate cotton candy at the time, shopped at the Downtown Disney mall and rode hit rides, including Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Alice in Wonderland and the Matterhorn.
Jolie filed for divorce from the actor, 55, in 2016. Throughout the former couple’s custody battle, the Maleficent star is “always coming up with fun things to do” with her six kids, a source told Us exclusively at the time.
“Her kids are her life,” the insider said. “Every day is a new adventure. [Jolie] really likes the life lessons and new ideas that come from trying all different things. The sky’s the limit for her.”
Her father, Jon Voight, opened up to Us exclusively in February about her mothering skills.
“She’s a very invested mom,” the Ray Donovan star, 80, told Us at the time. “She’s on it. She’s on it with these kids. She gives them love every second of their day.”
