The home stretch! Jessica Simpson is nearing the end of her third pregnancy, and her younger sister, Ashlee, told Us Weekly exclusively about how the fashion designer is handling the difficult time.
Although the Ashlee and Evan star, 34, admitted that Jessica, 38, has had a tough pregnancy so far, she loves that her sister hasn’t hidden it. “I’m so proud of her for being open,” she said on Thursday, February 7, at the Delta Air Lines Grammy Week Event. “It’s not always easy, so I think being open about that is great.”
The reality star added: “She’s tough. We’re talking about Jessica.”
Her husband, Eric Johnson, has also been a big help, Ashlee told Us. “Eric’s amazing and … [Jessica’s] great,” the Out of the Shadow and Into the Spotlight author revealed. “I mean, every time I’m around her, I don’t see any stress.”
The Dukes of Hazard actress, who already shares Maxwell, 6, and Ace, 5, with Johnson, announced in September 2018 that they are expecting their third child. “Surprise,” Jessica captioned an Instagram photo of her kids standing beneath pink balloons. “This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”
Five months later, she described the “month of sciatica pain … 3 weeks of Bronchitis” and swollen feet that had plagued her pregnancy on social media. “The only thing that gets me through … is knowing I will get another one of these cuties,” Jessica captioned an Instagram shot of her brood.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, visited the doctor on Tuesday, February 5. Weeks from her due date, Jessica’s baby bump was on full display in a fitted black top a brown cardigan and patterned, flowy pants.
