Bachelor alum Bekah Martinez has all the right reasons for gushing over her boyfriend, Grayston Leonard.
The reality star, 24, opened up about getting “unexpectedly pregnant” just three months into her relationship with Leonard and revealed how parenthood has strengthened their bond.
“This man is wonderful. And handsome. And a great dad. I love him so much, but there’s so much you don’t see that goes on behind the Instagram scenes,” Martinez captioned an Instagram snapshot with her beau on Thursday, March 28. “I think it’s easy to look at our photos together and think we transitioned seamlessly into a life with each other, and that couldn’t be further from the truth.”
The former babysitter explained that she and the gym owner struggled after welcoming their daughter, Ruth Ray De La Luz Leonard, and becoming mom and dad hasn’t been “all fun and games.”
Martinez admitted that starting this new chapter with Leonard has included “mostly tears and arguments,” but they’re getting into the swing of things. “Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never been happier than I am now,” she insisted. “I couldn’t think of a better person to be my partner or the father of my child, but dealing with the stress of an unplanned pregnancy with someone you barely know is ROUGH.”
The ABC alum, who rose to fame after vying for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s heart on The Bachelor season 22 in 2018, noted that she and Leonard are “still getting to know each other now; we’ve skipped past the whole dating phase and haven’t had much time to talk about things that aren’t baby-related.”
She added: “All that being said, we’re starting therapy together and I’m looking forward to where the future takes us. This post is meant to be a reminder that everyone has issues. Nothing is as perfect as perceived, and ALL relationships have struggles.”
Martinez, who welcomed her baby girl in February, received well wishes from Bachelor Nation after sharing her story. “Love the realness of this post on a platform that allows people to be everything but!” Rachel Lindsay commented. Added Amanda Stanton, “Love this.”
Chelsea Roy, who appeared on Luyendyk’s season alongside Martinez, also praised her former costar for her candid post: “Yes! I love this message and truth. As always, sending you both my love and support…kiss the little beauty for me!”
