A new member of Bachelor Nation! Bekah Martinez gave birth to her first child, boyfriend Grayston Leonard confirmed on Monday, February 4.
“#nopicturesplease,” Leonard captioned a picture of the newborn breast-feeding on Instagram. He also added a photo of the baby wearing a gray hat and mittens that resembled animal paws. The following day, Martinez shared the happy news in an Instagram post, revealing the pair are now parents of a beautiful baby girl.
“On the morning of February 2nd, our little girl joined us earth-side and we will never be the same,” the reality star wrote alongside a series of pics. “We are all as healthy and happy as can be.”
Martinez competed for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s heart on season 22 of The Bachelor in 2018. In fact, the former race car driver is expecting his first child with Lauren Burnham!
The 23-year-old shocked fans in September after she announced she was pregnant. “I was in disbelief and thought, “Is this really happening?’” Martinez told PureWow at the time. “I immediately called Grayston and then went across the street to the Dollar Tree and bought two more pregnancy tests. They, of course, were both positive.”
While Martinez wasn’t sure at the time if she and Leonard would ever tie the knot, she revealed that being a mother is the “one thing” she’s “known with certainty” that she’s always wanted.
“I’ve gone back and forth on the idea of marriage and relationships, but I’ve always felt sure that I want to be a mom,” she explained. “The last thing we need is to consider another commitment on top of what we’re already going through … Regardless, we’re bound together by sharing this little life.”
Throughout her pregnancy, Martinez showed off her growing belly on Instagram.
“I’m finally a woman with curves!! 😂 I do feel quite sexy (in a weird way),” Martinez wrote in November. “Also, I’m fully aware that I’m becoming one of those people who ONLY posts about their damn pregnancy…..just wait till this becomes an account fully dedicated to photos of my child 😈.”
