Beverley Mitchell is speaking out about her miscarriage four months after revealing she and her husband, Michael Cameron, lost their twins.
“This was the photo of when we found out we were pregnant with twins last year,” the 7th Heaven alum, 38, captioned an Instagram post with her husband. “Today I share a little about my struggle this past week in knowing if I didn’t miscarry that I would have a baby, maybe even two, right now. I always keep it real with you guys and last week was a sad week for me, but through sadness comes joy, and this week I am focusing on love, gratitude and the magic of the future.”
She opened up further in a blog post, writing, “I look at our two beautiful [kids] and I am so incredibly grateful, but in my heart I know we are not complete. I so strongly feel there is another little soul waiting to join our family, and that is where I struggle. Behind my smile, my heart just hurt [sic]! And of course, the kids talk about wanting another brother or sister, so that is tough.”
The Secret Life of the American Teenager star ended her post with an encouragement for anyone fighting a similar battle.
“Know that it is OK to take time to feel it all,” she wrote. “Give yourself a minute, sometimes life sucks but in the same breath life can be pure MAGIC. So let yourself feel, but also allow yourself to be open to the beauty and the magic too. Because in the darkness there is the beauty of the light!”
Mitchell and Cameron, who tied the knot in 2008, welcomed their children Kenzie, 5, and Hutton, 4, in 2013 and 2015, respectively.
In October 2018, Mitchell announced that she had miscarried twin babies. “Our new dream of our growing family came crashing down,” she wrote on her blog at the time. “Honestly, my first instinct was to say I was fine, and to be honest; I was trying to be. I thought I had to be, for my family, for myself … Though it made sense in my head, my heart could not make sense of it.”
