Singing her praises! Blythe Danner is in awe of her daughter Gwyneth Paltrow’s mothering skills.
When asked if she gives the Iron Man star, 46, any parenting advice, the Will & Grace alum, 76, told Us Weekly exclusively at the Tomorrow Man special screening on Monday, May 20, “Oh, no. If anything, she gives it to me. She’s brilliant. She’s a really wonderful parent.”
Danner went on to say that the Goop creator is “incredibly caring [and] incredibly patient” with the two children she shares with her ex-husband, Chris Martin, daughter Apple, 15, and son Moses, 13.
“When Moses was little, he would sit for an hour trying to figure out what he wanted in the toy store and I would think, ‘Come on! We’ve got to go!’ And Gwyneth would say, ‘No, Mom,’” Paltrow’s mom explained. “[She’s] very kind and patient.”
Since Danner lives “right around the corner” from her grandkids, she told Us that she sees them every day. As for Apple, the What They Had star said, “She’s a magnificent dancer. I think she has such a passion, and that’s the best we can do. Help a teenager find something. … It breaks the isolation of adolescence.”
Paltrow married Brad Falchuk in September 2018, and the Glee co-creator, 48, gave a sweet shoutout to his teenage stepdaughter earlier this month.
“Happy, happy birthday,” he commented on his wife’s tribute to Apple on her special day. “World’s best bonus daughter.”
The Clean Plate author wrote: “Happy 15th birthday my angel. I will never be able to put into words how much I love you. You are so strong and so good and so damn funny and sooooo gorgeous inside and out. I am the proudest mama ever. Feliz quinceañera mi vida!”
