A family affair! Drew Barrymore and her ex-husband, Will Kopelman, both showed up for their daughter Frankie’s graduation.
“Graduate,” the actor, 40, captioned a Thursday, May 30, Instagram upload. In the sweet pic, he held up his little one’s diploma while kissing her cheek. His ex-wife, 44, planted a kiss on Frankie’s other cheek.
The Flower Beauty creator gave birth to her daughter in 2014 and she joined older sister, Olive, now 6. While she and the art consultant, who tied the knot in 2012, split in 2016, they’ve been coparenting like pros ever since.
The actress opened up about this process on Instagram in December 2018, posting a throwback picture of her and Kopelman. “Once upon a time… I remember reading an article that said I had gotten my happy ending after all,” Barrymore wrote. “Looking at this picture, it sure looks that way. And then, like many times in life for all of us, our plans change and our dreams are adjusted. But that doesn’t mean that every second wasn’t worth it. And if that DeLorean time machine pulled up every day, I would do it all over again. After all, I did get my dream. 2 healthy girls.”
The Little Girl Lost author added: “Will and I continue to marvel at what we made and try to be the best co parents we can be. It’s not always easy and the point is… nothing in life is. But it doesn’t mean that any bitter outweighs the sweet!”
The exes spent Mother’s Day 2017 together and Barrymore shared a smiling selfie at the time. “Mother’s Day. Father is awesome and we have happy unorthodox union,” she captioned the sweet shot. “And let’s honor the dad’s today too. #HAPPYMOTHERSDAY.”
