Celebrating life. Eva Longoria is reflecting on memories with her son, Santiago, as she honors his very 1st birthday.
Longoria, 44, shared a series of sweet pictures of her baby boy on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, June 19. In one snap, the then-pregnant Desperate Housewives alum showed off her growing belly. However, she also shared many photos of Santiago in the hospital after she gave birth.
“Always smiling, even at 5 days old,” she captioned a pic in her Instagram Stories.
One video post also shared a glimpse at a gift her pal George Lopez sent over for Santiago’s special day, which included flowers and a backpack. (Instead of physical presents, Longoria said that she asked for everyone to give a backpack filled with school supplies, which would be donated to Padres Contra el Cancer — a non-profit organization that provides aid to families with children and young adults who have cancer.)
The Grand Hotel executive producer continued to celebrate her son’s big day with a heartfelt post on her Instagram page. Longoria wrote a long, sweet message about Santiago to accompany a single picture of the mother-son duo that showed the star smiling lovingly at the baby.
“When did this happen?!!! I have a one year old! Y’all he’s not a baby anymore, he’s a toddler,” she wrote. “This past year has been the best year of my life. Having this beautiful soul to wake up to every morning and to put to bed every night has been magical. Every laugh and giggle that comes out of your mouth and every smile that crosses your face has been pure joy! Thank you for choosing me as your mamá! I love you amor mio! Happy Birthday, Santi baby!”
Santiago is Longoria’s first and only child. The Telenovela alum shares the 12-month-old with her husband, José Antonio Bastón, whom she wed in 2016.
When it comes to raising her son, Longoria is committed to instilling strong values in Santiago.
“I will make sure my son grows up with the mindset to help others,” she exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2018. “[Santiago] won’t just be interacting with people in his daily life, he will be interacting with the whole world — doing things in life that will affect others, can affect others.”
Us confirmed the Texas native’s pregnancy in December 2017.
