Hilary Duff has grown up right in front of our eyes!
On Wednesday, the pregnant singer-actress turns 24! Duff and hubby Mike Comrie announced in August that they were expecting their first child. "We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives," she gushed on her website.
But Duff, who rose to fame as the main character on the Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire, knows many people have a hard time seeing her as a full-fledged adult. "I grew up in people's living rooms, and so they know me as this little blond, perfectly-relatable girl. And that's fine," she told the Huffington Post. "But kind of, to make that transition, I felt it was important to take a step back and get out of people's everyday of seeing me all the time."

Unlike some of her contemporaries, Duff has stayed out of trouble with the law. Largely for that reason, Miley Cyrus declared in 2008 that the fellow former Disney star was her role model.
"[Hilary has] kind of set the way for all of us, not only just in a business sense, but [by] saying that it is OK to be a good girl," Cyrus, now 18, told MTV News. "Like, that's cool!"
