Relax, mom! Jennifer Lopez may be a global superstar and media mogul with an enviable figure, but the usually calm-under-fire singer admitted she was “freaking out” when 5-year-old son Max got a little boo-boo recently.
“Max got stitches on his chin,” the 43-year-old singer told Us Weekly at the opening of Hakkasan Nightclub in Las Vegas on Saturday, Apr. 27. “You know, I hear all little boys have a little scar on their chin. Of course I was freaking out, but he was fine. He said it tickled.”
Lopez and beau Casper Smart, 25, sizzled on the red carpet at the event, with Lopez looking glam in a black clingy dress and bright red lipstick that matched Smart’s bold red blazer.
Son Max (whom she affectionately called “The Boss”) and twin sister Emme spent the weekend with dad Marc Anthony as the couple took in the sights and sounds of Vegas.
“It’s nice to have a little down time,” the busy entrepreneur said. “I’m about to launch the single [“Live It Up,” in collaboration with Pit Bull] so I’ll be working on that probably for the next two or three months.”
And, for the time being, that appears to be Lopez’s main project. Earlier this month, rumors swirled that Lopez may be in talks with American Idol producers to return to the show as a replacement for current judge Mariah Carey, but show producer Nigel Lythgoe denied any such talks.
“I have not been included in any conversation regarding replacing Mariah with Jen this season,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
