Back to the grind! Jessica Simpson showed fans her postpartum workout seven weeks after she welcomed daughter Birdie.
“Just stretching it out in my rubber corset,” the 38-year-old singer captioned an Instagram photo of herself trying to touch her toes on Thursday, May 9. “The joy of postpartum.”
Simpson and husband Eric Johnson’s third child arrived on March 19. “Birdie Mae Johnson,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “3.19.19 10 Pounds 13 Ounces.” The couple are also parents of daughter Maxwell, 7, and son Ace, 5.
The fashion designer shared a photo of her bare baby bump on Instagram the day before she gave birth, captioning the shot: “Jess-tation.” The then-pregnant star wore a bikini and sunglasses as she placed her hand on her belly.
Simpson opened up about her post-delivery progress in April. “Recovering from a C-section is no joke!” she told her Instagram followers. “I’m feeling thankful for these two older siblings looking over their new baby sister.”
The Dukes of Hazzard star then got real about her struggles with adjusting to her growing brood after undergoing the operation. “I think we all get so carried away with the excitement of having a new baby that we forget that we are going in for major surgery,” she noted. “Then on top of that, we get home from the hospital, have to recover from the surgery, balance our new life as a parent to three kids and be a wife.”
A source exclusively revealed to Us Weekly in March that Simpson was “so over being pregnant” and was “looking forward to getting back on her feet again.”
Birdie’s older sister and brother, meanwhile, were happy to assist their mom with the newborn duties. “They’re very helpful and sweet with the baby,” the insider told Us. “They’re both very curious and like to be involved.”
