Starting a new chapter! Jessica Simpson gave birth to her third child, Birdie, on March 19, and the end of her pregnancy was a major relief, a source reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly.
“She’s over the moon,” the insider says. “She was so over being pregnant, and now she’s looking forward to getting back on her feet again.”
While the fashion designer, 38, is thrilled to experience motherhood for a third time, the source adds that Simpson is “also exhausted and running on adrenaline.”
Her husband, Eric Johnson, has been a huge help, though — and so have their kids, Maxwell, 6, and Ace, 5. “They’re very helpful and sweet with the baby,” the insider tells Us. “They’re both very curious and like to be involved.”
The Dukes of Hazzard actress announced in September 2018 that she and the former NFL player, 39, were expecting their third child together.
“Surprise…” she captioned an Instagram photo of her son and daughter standing beside big black balloons. They were popped in the following post, revealing smaller pink ones. “This little baby girl will make us a family of five,” Simpson added. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”
Her pregnancy journey was far from easy, featuring extremely swollen feet, severe acid reflux and multiple bronchitis hospitalizations.
“The one thing that gets me though this pregnancy is knowing I will get another one of these cuties,” the singer captioned a February photo of Maxwell and Ace smiling in their school uniforms.
