“From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son,” the Full House star, 54, captioned a sweet black-and-white photo of his newborn clutching the new dad’s wedding ring finger while resting on Stamos’ bare chest. “Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father).” The actor known as Uncle Jesse to generations of sitcom fans added the hashtags #NotJustanUncleAnymore and #Overjoyed.

Stamos and McHugh, 32, announced that they were expecting their first child in December, just two months after he popped the question at Disneyland, which holds a special place in the hearts of both of them.

“He put together some of the most romantic moments from Disney and Pixar animation [in a video],” Lara Spencer revealed on Good Morning America in October. “And then he ended it with Sebastian from The Little Mermaid saying, ‘Just ask the girl’ to John.”

The couple, who began dating in 2016, wed in February at Stamos’ Beverly Hills, California, home.

The actor, who was previously married to Rebecca Romijn, told Entertainment Tonight last year that he’d always planned on having kids.

“It’s just taken me a lot longer than I anticipated,” he admitted. “It would be a tragedy if I didn’t have children and I finally found the right woman — the perfect woman. I know my parents are smiling down. I know they would love her. She’s a gentle, kind, graceful soul who would be a good mother.”
