The “Be Careful” rapper, 25, shared snapshots from the glamorous occasion in Atlanta, Georgia, via Facebook on Wednesday, June 27. “Bardi Baby Shower,” she captioned a photo of husband Offset cradling her bump as the duo posed in front of an array of pink and white roses adorning a mirrored table. Cardi, who stunned in a form-fitting pink gown and lavish DYLANLEX jewelry, also posted an adorable video of the Migos rapper, 26, kissing her hand.
A source tells Us Weekly that Cardi “hired a party planner” for the festivities, “but was involved in all of the planning. She really wanted to make it special and a true dance party. Cardi wanted everyone to have an amazing time and have [the party be] later at night instead of just during the day. She flew up a bunch of her friends from New York.”
The elegant event came two days after the “I Like It” rapper confirmed that she and Offset had secretly tied the knot in September 2017. “There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself! Getting married was one of those moments!” she tweeted on Monday, June 25. “Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing to do but we was so in love we didn’t want to lose each other. Was one morning in September we woke up and decided to get married. We found someone to marry us, and she did, just the two of us and my cousin. I said I do, with no dress, no makeup and no ring!”
The surprising announcement left fans with many questions as Offset publicly proposed to Cardi on stage during her Power 99’s Powerhouse concert in October. In her Twitter post, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper also explained why her hubby still popped the question after they had exchanged vows.
“I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me to have that special moment that every girl dreams of when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!!” she gushed. “Well now since you lil nosey f—keys know at least ya can stop saying I had a baby out of wedlock.”
Cardi, who is due to give birth to a baby girl in July, made headlines in April after announcing her pregnancy during a Saturday Night Live performance.
