It’s blue for these two! Pregnant Bachelorette alum Desiree Hartsock and husband Chris Siegfried reveal exclusively to Us Weekly that they are expecting a baby boy.
“Well, we were planning on just doing a dinner and keeping it very private and only between us, but we walked out of the ultrasound and we had the card in our hand and thought, ‘Or we could do this right now,'” Siegfried, 30, tells Us. “We just couldn’t wait, once we found out. … We didn’t care if it was a boy or a girl. But it was so nice to know.”
“It makes it all more real and, like, this is really happening!” Hartsock, 30, adds. “We have a name picked out! We’re keeping it in our back pocket right now, but that’ll be a surprise to everyone!”
Back in April, the bridal dress designer and Siegfried broke the news to Us that they were expecting their first child. The banker is particularly excited to play baseball with their little boy one day.
“But whatever happens, we are not going to be one of those parents that says, ‘You have to do this,'” he explains. “He can be an artist, just live his life! We don’t care.”
For now, the dad-to-be is trying to make Hartsock as comfortable as possible. “He’s really supportive. He would run out and pick up all the foods I was craving, which changed day to day,” Hartsock gushes. Some of her go-to snacks? Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked Ice Cream and pickles.
“I’ve actually been feeling pretty great, now that I just hit the third trimester,” she tells Us. “In the beginning, it was pretty rough. I was really tired all the time and my cravings have been so random. Every day is something new.”
During the ups and downs, Hartsock has reached out to Bachelor alum Renee Oteri. “When I’m thinking of my friends who I go to advice for parenting, a lot of it comes from her and it’s so chill,” she says of Oteri, who is expecting her third child. “I love how relaxed she is; she makes it easy. If you don’t stress about stuff, it comes easier.”
