Amber Heard will likely take the stand to testify against estranged husband Johnny Depp in her upcoming restraining order hearing against him on Friday, June 17.
“As of now, the plan is for Amber to testify on Friday,” a source tells Us Weekly.
According to court documents obtained by Us, Heard signed a declaration that stated she “could and would competently testify” if called as a witness in court. Her friend Raquel Rose Pennington signed a similar document, declaring that she had “firsthand personal knowledge of the facts.”
Neither Pennington nor Heard was available to attend a deposition on June 10, however. Pennington stated in her declaration that she was in New Jersey for her engagement party and would not return to L.A. until June 15. Heard, meanwhile, was a guest at the party and said she would need at least two weeks to gather all of the necessary documents.
In response, Depp’s attorney, Laura Wasser, filed documents requesting that the court prevent Heard from offering testimony if she failed to “appear for deposition” or did not “produce the requested documents at her deposition.”
Depp, for his part, has been touring with his band, Hollywood Vampires, and vacationing in the Bahamas, where he and Heard married in February 2015. Heard’s legal team has reportedly requested his attendance at the hearing on Friday, but it’s unclear whether he’ll go.

As previously reported, Heard filed for divorce on May 23 after 15 months of marriage. At the time, she requested spousal support, though she has since withdrawn that request. A few days after the filing, she asked for a restraining order against the actor, claiming that he physically abused her throughout their relationship. (She later provided photos of her bruised face to make her case.)
Wasser denied the allegations and claimed that Heard was “attempting to secure” financial gain through her claims. Several of Depp’s friends came to his defense, as well.
Still, a Heard pal previously told Us, “This isn’t about money. All Amber did was try to get out of a marriage because she was suffering from abuse.”
